Everything you need to know
before you try Condense

Features, how it works, real use cases, security details, and an honest comparison with ChatGPT, Claude, and NotebookLM — in one page.

Every analysis includes all of this

No configuration, no prompt crafting. Upload a document, get a structured analysis shaped for your role — every time.

Executive Summary

A tight, role-specific summary of the document's most important points — written for how you think, not how the document was organized.

Ranked Action Items

What you need to do next — prioritized by urgency. Red flags surface first. You act, you don't sift.

Key Decisions

Decisions the document forces — from approvals to strategic choices. Extracted automatically for your role's lens, ready for the meeting.

Risk Flags

Financial, legal, operational and strategic risks — identified in the context of your role so you see the ones that actually matter to you.

Dig Deeper

Click any finding to surface the exact document passage behind it — plus role-specific guidance on what it means and what to do about it.

Email-to-Condense

Forward any document to analyze@condense.pro. Condense analyzes it using your saved profile and emails results back — no browser required.

Analysis History

Every analysis is saved. Come back to any document, re-analyze with updated context, or send results to colleagues. Nothing is lost.

Shareable Results

Every analysis gets a persistent link at /results/:id — share with colleagues or reference later. No login required to view.

How Condense actually works

From profile setup to Dig Deeper — the complete picture of what happens when you use Condense day-to-day.

1

Set up your profile once

Tell Condense your role, seniority level, and what you care about. This context is saved and applied automatically to every document you analyze.

CEO, CFO, CIO, VP Sales, General Counsel, Board Member, Analyst — or define a custom role. Updates instantly apply to future analyses.
2

Upload, drag, or email

Upload directly in the browser (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, TXT up to 25MB), drag files in, paste a URL, or forward documents to analyze@condense.pro.

Email-to-Condense analyzes using your profile and replies with results — no browser session needed. Works from any email client.
3

Get your structured analysis

In about 15 seconds: role-specific executive summary, ranked action items, key decisions, and risk flags. Consistent format, every time — no prompts needed.

Each output section is calibrated to your role. A CFO's risk flags differ from a General Counsel's — same document, different lens.
4

Dig Deeper on anything

Click any action item, decision, or risk flag to see the exact document passage behind it, plus role-specific guidance on what to do next.

You stay in the structured view — drilling into three items and coming back. The overview never disappears. Share or email the full analysis anytime.

Built for professionals who read to act

Not every role needs the same lens. Condense gives each one its own.

CFO / Finance Lead
"I get three board packs a week. I need to know the cash position, capex pressures, and risks in 10 minutes — not after a 2-hour read."

Board packs, quarterly reports, M&A diligence

Condense reads for financial signals — margin compression, working capital trends, covenant risk, budget variances. Every analysis is pre-filtered for what a CFO needs to act on.

  • Working capital and liquidity flags
  • Budget vs. actuals analysis
  • Risk flags for covenant and compliance triggers
Compliance Consultant
"I review regulatory filings and legal documents constantly. I need material findings surfaced, not a summary of what the document says."

Regulatory filings, audit reports, contract reviews

Condense identifies material findings, compliance obligations, and deadline-driven action items — structured for immediate triage rather than narrative reading.

  • Material findings and audit exceptions
  • Regulatory deadlines and obligation flags
  • Source passages for every flagged item
Strategy & Management Consulting
"I analyze market research, strategy decks, and competitive briefs for multiple clients. Context-switching and staying sharp on each is the hardest part."

Market research, strategy documents, competitive briefs

Condense extracts the strategic signals — market opportunities, competitive threats, and decision points — shaped by your client's context and your role in the engagement.

  • Strategic opportunities and market signals
  • Competitive risks and positioning gaps
  • Client-ready action items with source backing

Condense vs ChatGPT, Claude & NotebookLM

An honest look across the criteria that matter for document analysis workflows — not marketing copy.

Quick Verdict

ChatGPT is a Swiss Army knife. Condense is a scalpel for report triage. ChatGPT can do almost anything — but "almost anything" means you have to tell it what to do, every time. Condense is purpose-built: upload a document, it surfaces action items, decisions, and risk flags structured for your role — no prompts, no setup, no guesswork.

When to use which tool

There's no single right answer. Here's the honest breakdown.

Choose Condense Best for this

  • You review the same types of documents regularly (board packs, quarterly reports, contracts, research briefs)
  • You want consistent output format — same structure every time, ready to act on
  • Your role matters — CFO needs different signals from a doc than a General Counsel does
  • You don't have time to craft prompts — you want to upload and read results
  • You need to share analysis with colleagues (persistent shareable links)
  • You want to drill into specific findings without losing the structured overview (Dig Deeper)

Choose ChatGPT or Claude

  • You need general-purpose AI — writing, coding, math, email drafting, brainstorming
  • Your document analysis is exploratory and open-ended — you're not sure what you're looking for
  • You're comfortable writing detailed prompts and want full control over the output format
  • You need multi-modal capability — images, charts, data analysis alongside text
  • You want the biggest ecosystem — plugins, integrations, and a massive community of prompts

Choose NotebookLM

  • You're doing deep research across multiple documents and want to ask questions across a corpus
  • You work in Google Workspace and want native Google Docs integration
  • You want document grounding with cited sources and prefer free pricing

Dig Deeper: guided depth vs open prompting

The biggest practical difference between Condense and ChatGPT for document work isn't the initial summary — it's what happens next.

How Dig Deeper works

Condense doesn't stop at the overview. Every action item, decision, and risk flag in your analysis is interactive.

1
Get your structured analysis Upload a document. Condense generates your role-specific summary, action items, key decisions, and risk flags — in under 15 seconds, zero prompts.
2
Click any finding to go deeper See a risk flag that needs more context? Click it. Condense surfaces the specific document passages behind it.
3
Get AI-driven advice in context Condense provides targeted guidance on that specific finding — what it means for your role, what questions to ask, what to watch for.
4
Stay in the structured framework You never lose the overview. Drill down on three items, come back to the full structure — the framework stays intact.
Compare to ChatGPT: To get equivalent depth in ChatGPT, you'd write an initial prompt, review the response, write a follow-up prompt, review again, repeat. The output format changes each time. You're managing the conversation. With Condense, the structure is already there — you're just deciding where to look closer.
Sample Output
⚠ Risk Flag — CFO View
Working capital deterioration accelerating
Current ratio dropped from 1.8x to 1.2x YoY. Payables extended to 72 days vs 45-day terms.
Dig Deeper — Source passages
"...the group's current ratio as at 31 March stood at 1.19x compared to 1.84x at the equivalent prior year period..." (p. 24)
CFO action signal: Request liquidity bridge from treasury for next 90 days. Verify whether payables stretch is policy or distress signal before Q2 board review.
